WANTED (MAYBE...NOT!!), by TICKLEBEAR

today was the release of

"wanted",

the new flick

with angelina jolie, morgan freeman,

& james mcavoy.

try imagining a pathetic accountant (mcavoy),

leading a dull life,

(no surprise there...)

finding out that the father that

abandonned him & his mother

when he was still just a baby,

was killed the day before,

& he was an assassin.

& the one who killed his dad,

now wants to kill him...

he is to join the fraternity of assassins

his father belonged to,

to follow in his father's footsteps...

yeah, right!!

the scenario seems a bit flimsy,

i found the main character unsympathetic

throughout the movie,

& felt the urge to whack him myself...

angelina is good,

nice eyecandy

& i liked her in that role.

except,

don't expect clever dialogues in that movie,

there aren't any (clever, that is...).

the stunts & special f/x are interesting.

while there are a few good moments,

i felt there was not enough

to sustain my interest throughout.

was i amazed by that film.

nope!!

merely amused,

occasionally.

was i intrigued?

nope!!

i just went with the flow.

i'll say this:

toward the end,

there's a bit of a twist

that made things a tad more interesting,

but too little too late.

morgan freeman,

whom i adore,

did the job,

but nothing more.

when you know this man

has delivered in the past

some great performances,

in my opinion,

this is a bit of a letdown,

though not a total disappointment.

it's not a bad movie.

just not a great one.

keep your expectations low,

& you'll be happy.

neurons activity: none required.

adrenaline: you get a few short bursts.

stunts & spc f/x: not bad at all,

some are quite effective.

photography: impeccable.

go see that movie,

it's allright.

just don't expect to remember it

in more than a couple of weeks.

i don't smell oscar here...

but it's a summer movie after all.
